We we left lake Seminole Tuesday for R Shafer Heard COE Park close to West point Georgia. Before we left I took one more hike in the morning and met an armadillo and the trailer from Long Long trailer movie. R Heard Schaefer campground is at West point lake Camp at lot 27, good slope to a level spot on the edge of the lake. At West Point General Tyler held the fort with 300 residents against the Union army even though he had lost his leg in a previous battle and it was a week after Lee had surrendered and they didn't know the war was over.Tyler was killed during the battle and was the last general killed in the Civil War.His youngest fighter was 8 years old and he made him a major. Lots of history. Waterview behind the camper We went to the city of Opelika to do a adventure lab and some geocaching Confederate soldiers statue The town had three breweries and a distillery. We visited two We are moving our house to doll mountain today. Beautiful courthouse in the town.
