This is where we stayed for the next few days. Quite impressive lake on a very large Hill. We drove a few miles from our campsite to get to Ghost Ranch. There's an old home along the road as you go in. The complex is an educational art driven place and is quite impressive. You can also get trail rides and tours. These people were standing there by the horses. Sign says Ghost ranch We found this big gold nugget but couldn't figure out how to get it to the car. Neither one wanted to carry it, as if we could. Notice the camper next to us is another Casita. We got tickets to go down into the palace. You have to get these couple weeks before you get here. Many people were disappointed that they couldn't go down into the ruins. There are supposedly 200 cliff dwellings in the area. The movie that they have says that these were just kind of temporary places to stay and their migration.

This is the front of the UFO museum and below is a picture of some of their inhabitants They seemed very friendly. This one even has its arm around Becky Our next campground was at valley of fires which is a Bureau of Land Management campground. We are overlooking molten lava that cooled off about 5,000 years ago, but it's amazing. In Lincoln, up in the mountains we visited the Smokey Bear historical Park. He was actually found with burnt paws from a forest fire. Smokey spent his life at a zoo in Washington DC and at the age of 26 passed away and was sent back to Lincoln and he is buried on this museum property We visited the Petroglyphs of Three Rivers.
