July 3rd to July 10th

Day 7 at Rio grande national Park. We got up early so that we could go up the Lost mine trail. This is about a 5 Mile hike with 1100 ft climb. The trail was done by the CCC boys and in very good shape. I was suggest anyone who comes to Big Bend to hike this, but you do have to get up early. Parking is limited and it fills up by 9:00 a.m.
















As I looked up the trail a large black bear was coming towards us. I had my walking stick so I wailed it around and yelled in the beer just stopped probably 30 ft away and looked and kind of cocked his head as if to say what are you doing. He continued to walk towards us got to about 20 ft and luckily there was space for him to jump off the trail and he walked around us and came back up on the trail and continued his way down.









Balance rock was down a gravel road 5 miles which had not been graded for long time and a lot of washouts.

We attended a star party at the McDonald observatory which was only 13 miles away from our campsite at fort Davis do you remember the name of this town




We went to Balmorhea Texas State Park where they have the largest spring fed swimming pool. The water is clear and it produces so much water that they irrigate all the farms around it with the excess. I can 







We spent a number of hours at fort Davis national Park. This is a Fort that was to protect the highway from Albuquerque to San Antonio. It was for protection of the stage coaches and cargo from Indians.




Our last day and fort Davis State Park climbed a mountain to get the geocache, last of five that we got here.




Had to travel to the top of Davis mountain to get good signal. So I called this my office with a view.

52 years ago we came to St. Augustine, we have always loved this town. We have stayed at Anastasia island every time we have been here. This is our campsite number 27 We rode our bikes to town and across the bridge of Lions each day. It is about 10 miles plus any riding around town. We went to visit the fort, interesting airplane entrails One of our favorite restaurant  we did not eat there this time but they have neat tree houses. The whole town has fun with Halloween. New restaurant and open 3 weeks and they have one in Savannah. The name is said trailer park. Order the Nachos, not your usual.Waffle fries, chicken and fantastic sauce. Share with at least one other person.  The last day we were here it rained about 6 in. And none of our streets was flooding but there was some. Week of May 8 to 14

  We spent 3 days at fort desoto one of our favorite camping places the beach is absolutely beautiful. We spent two days at paines prairie, not enough time here. Wild Horses and Buffalo roam the park. We will probably be stopping here again. Adventure lab took us to a town next to the park called Micanopy. This town was very interesting and had a lot of old houses a neat downtown area that is mostly antique shops now. You don't want to miss this adventure lab. Saturday we came to Seminole lake to a corps of engineer campground called East Bank. Very nice campground

August 21st to September 4th

On a way east or it's Ohio we stopped at Loda, Illinois. We visited Pam and Bob Jurgens at their beautiful cottage on a lake. We had a great Pontoon boat ride and swam off of the boat. We did not perform the song. We also played a few rounds of pickleball. Are campsites at East harbor State Park. We are here for 13 days while we prepare the garage and dock to sell. This is Olivia and Eden's first day of school. We also got to celebrate maevis's birthday We gave away a lot of stuff, but was able to sell the sunfish at the last moment before closing. Campgrounds are always interested. This is a camper that was straight across from us. These people had a lot of fun look closely at the pictures to see what they wrote on the side of it. One of the planes that flies around the islands every year is the Ford Trip motor We got to garage completely empty and was able to enjoy a couple of days with our friends from Cincinnati Ron and Mary Turnau.
