June 26th to July 2nd
We did a adventure lab in castroville a nice little town.
Our campsite no shade here and 107°
This park is huge and bigger than the size of Rhode Island. The Rio grande travels 182 miles thru it. Mexico is just on the other side of the Rio grande most places you'd have no problems walking right across.
Border patrol has a presence here, but not anymore than we've seen at lake Erie.
We traveled to the Hot springs historic areaThere used to be a spa here, only foundation is there now. The Rio grande river is right behind.
This group of palm trees were located at the spa area.
The road going into Hot springs was narrow and drop offs right beside the road.
Trees are non-existent in the campground, but it's full hookup and last week it got was 114° here. Cooler days coming it's supposed to be in the mid 80s
Buzzards method of trying to stay cool.
We have seen coyote lots of roadrunners and some javelinas all behind our camper.
They used to mine ore in Mexico and send it through the valley on a tramway. And they had to truck it about 80 miles to Marathon Texas to get it on train.
On day 4/7 we hiked to Balance Rock following Grapevine Springs Road.
We have a map on our refrigerator that shows all the states we have traveled to. Look at Texas and they used Balance Rock.

That is really awesome, but I do not envy you having no shade ! I am also adding states to my map!
